Some Background

Welcome to my site/ blog/ course platform! Thank you so much for visiting and your interest in getting involved.

A bit of my history -

I was born on .... nah, too far back...

Let's start from:

My first career was in Film/ TV. I worked in the camera department, worked my way up from a Production Assistant to a Director of Photography in way too short a period of time.

The aggressive growth rate is due in part to my aggressive need to prove myself to the world - having grown with feelings of inferiority.

I got to the point of burnout in my industry - driving super hard in lifestyle, work, and living in NYC. The struggle was real.

I got sick - I literally thought I was about to die while in my apartment one night. It felt like my pancreas (or something) had exploded inside of me - I had horifiic pains, I got tunnel vision. I called 9-1-1 and crawled out to the street so they could pick me up.

Stretcher, oxygen, some pills, some scans, and I was home.

What happened? I had no idea - and neither did the doctors - 4 months went by of increasing pain - tons of tests and scans, 3 specialists and no answers.

I gave up, I prayed. That's when Ayurveda stepped into my life

I went to a meditation class, the class was 4 days. A week later my pains were subsiding, quickly! I asked the meditation teacher what this stuff was and how I could get more - that's the first time I heard the word Ayurveda

She connected me with a practitioner - I started working on my body with him.

After 4-5 months, a couple books later, I decided to dedicate my life to Ayurveda

I first set out to become an Ayurvedic Chef - I wanted to be the best Ayurvedic Chef so I went to The Culinary Institute of America to make sure I really had the Chef part down - cooking my way around the world in fine-dining, vegan, and farm to table restaurants, honing my skills behind the line.

I did this while in Ayurveda school that was mixed distance learning and in-person, which fit in great with my work schedule.

After graduating Ayurvedic School it was time to spread the word! I started with some Ayurvedic cooking classes, Ayurveda general classes, then doing consultations, and coaching, aaand more teaching

All the while doing business - it has been very nice to make a living doing what I love and am passionate about - helping others heal.

I have now been in India for 7 months (as of July/2020) I see much more poverty here than in the US and people who really need healing.

After going through some deeper layers of healing of my own. I have come to a profound idea.

Always having altruism on my radar - I thought I might be more charitable once I got more well off - had a successful business, restaurant, or etc - to be able to give back to the world in bigger ways.

Instead, I have decided to devote that now.

My new busniess model is to donate 20% of all gross sales directly to a charity or organization. It is now my mission to do this for 10 charities in the next year (July 2021)

In this way - I can help people who can afford to invest in their health, and I can take their investments directly to others who may not have the resources or access to healing.

This newfound direction has given me so much more passion to help spread the word of Ayurveda and be a leading example in how we can do business in the future.

If you are interested in getting involved or have an organization or charity that you are affiliated with - I would love to have a deeper conversation with you about working together.

I am available for individual nutritional consultations and coaching upon request

Thank you so much for taking a moment to read about my story - that is ever evolving and venturing through the fabric of our world.

May you be blessed with good health, good company, and your desires fulfilled 🙏

Much love,

Austin
